Monstar summer shoot

Hello Everyone,

Here’s a recent shoot I did for Monstar Kids summer range.

Monstar Kids has been going from strength to strength the last 2 years. They specialise in clothing for 2-8 year olds and the label is the brainchild of the uber talented Fiona Roy.

We had an absolute ball doing the shoot down on the Point Lonsdale foreshore and given it was the summer range, grateful we got some summer weather.

I don’t know where that quote ‘don’t work with children or animals’ comes from, I absolutely love photographing them both! Don’t try to control and pose them too much, just let em run around and have fun and make sure you’re ready to catch the moments.

win a free ‘Trash The Dress’ photo shoot from Xiss!!

Hello Lovelys,

Yes, I’m giving away a free ‘TRASH THE DRESS’ photography session valued at $650 to a lucky bride.

The package includes 2 hours location photography within 50km of Melbourne and all fully retouched images for you to keep on disk.

So if you’ve ever wanted to go swimming, get caked in mud or do anything in your wedding dress you absolutely shouldn’t, drop me a line and tell me in a 100 words or less on why you should win. I promise you it will be an absolute blast and you will end up with some incredible photos, I’m up for anything you are!. Make sure you include a photograph of yourself, preferably from your wedding day .

Contrary to the name we don’t have to actually destroy the dress. A professional clean after a TTD session will usually see them as good as new but if you want to……..

Send your entry to james@xiss.com with ‘TTD competition’ in the subject line and make sure you include your contact details.

Winner will be announced 25/11/08

In joy

botanical gardens wedding

Sam and Justin are an amazing couple and I felt so honoured to photograph their wedding.
During the whole wedding process there was such a strong sense of 2 people with a real unified spirit and vision, being asked to document that spirit and energy in people is something that makes wedding photography so enjoyable.

We had a lot of fun planning the coverage and they were up for it!

The mask photo idea came from a net brainstorming session where we came across the website of US wedding photographer’s ‘The Image is Found’ who had a similar shot on their site.

Their service was beautiful held in perfect weather at the Melbourne Botanical gardens and reception at ACA was very special with the catering provided by top Melbourne restaurant, Ezards for whom Justin had been the restaurant manager.

Sam and Juz, it was a total pleasure to get to know you be involved in your wedding!
