More Monstar

Hello Lovelies,

I just had to share this shot with you, I absolutely love it.

I shot Monstarkids summer range late last year, beautiful, original  clothes for little kids and now I was back for their Winter collection.

We had a great day.

I’ll blog some more later.

Rob & Cathleena  03/04/2009

Lyrebird Falls, Kallista-ceremony and reception

Janet Hussey – Celebrant

Two more beautiful, in love people you will not meet.

Rob and Cathleena met in Canada 5 years ago (Cath is Canadian), they fell in love and a year later Cathleena moved to Australia, the rest, as they say, is history.

Their service was at Lyrebird Falls the lush forests of Kallista in the Dandenongs was a reflection of they are “scientists and environmental nerds” as Rob describes themselves

With rain being so scarce in this part of the world  the rain that was a part of their wedding day must have been an auspicious start to their married life.

As a wedding photographer I never get sick of the energy of 2 people in love and commited to a life together, its inspiring and a force to be celebrated.

Australian Photographer of the year shortlisted!

Hello lovelies.

I’m proud to say I’ve been shortlisted in the Yaffa Australian photographer of the year in both the wedding photographer and portrait photographer categories.

Woohoo!

I’m particularly proud about the wedding photographer nomination considering Xiss has only been going for 18 months.

With several of the other nominated photographers producing work I really admire and pushing boundaries  I’m hoping its recognition that wedding photography is finally evolving in this country beyond the bland, saccharine coated, soft focus images of brides with arched backs and ‘vampire kissing’ grooms  which still seems to dominate this industry to photography with greater emotional depth and integrity, but you already know that don’t you? Because that’s why your here.

Mornington Peninsula garden wedding

Greig & Kelly 21/3/09

Greig and Kelly tied the knot in a beautiful garden wedding held in perfect weather conditions at Karrawingi Park, Mooroduc on the Mornington Peninsula.

They spoke passionately and honestly about their love for each other including the trials and tribulations in getting to this point. I truly had a sense these tests had made them stronger and ready for an abundant life together.

A big thank you to Shannon Morris who helped me out 2nd shooting as I had the flu, you did an amazing job!

Melbourne park wedding

Lisa and Anousone 14/03/2009

“Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction.”

Antione De Saint-Exupery.

Lisa and Anousone are 2 people in love and I had the honour of spending their wedding day with them and capturing that spirit and love.

Anousone’s family hails from Laos and Lisa’s from East Timor, they of course met on a night out in Melbourne.

They were married in a Gazebo at the Botanical Gardens during Melbourne’s first day of rain for 3 months.

It was a beautiful day, their love radiated like a beacon and I’m sure the rain was symbol of renewal and growth of a new life…
