I love Jewish weddings.
They’re fun and wild, what a way to start your married life!
My partner in crime for the day was the very pregnant and uber talented Meredith O’Shea. More soon.

Hello Lovelies,
Heres a peek from Marnie & Nicks beautiful wedding. More to come soon.

Sarah and Matt are a beautiful couple. Both from ‘old school’ Port Melbourne families, thats the working class Port Melbourne from as little as 15 years ago as opposed to ultra chic, inner urban high rise locale full of hip people, advertising agencies and designer stores it is now. Although raised in the same suburb they didn’t meet till later in life when introduced by mutual friends. and despite having moved across the river to Spotswood Matt still plays footy for the local Port Colts.
These 2 have been together for 8 years now and are very in love. Sarah clearly was very excited about her wedding. Besides pouring in a massive amount of time organising it there was a daily countdown ‘xx sleeps to go’ on her Facebook page from about 3 weeks till the big day. Matt may not have been as extroverted in his excitment but the the look on his face in the church as Sarah made her entrance was heartfelt, moving and said it all.
The reception at Riva in Elwood followed for 180 of their closest family and friends. They arrived just as the rain started, the timing could not have been better. It was a big big night, these guys really knew how to party!
Thank you Sarah and Matt for asking me to share your journey, it was an absolute joy.

Hello Lovelies,
The final ceremony in Nadi and Spiro’s Mauritian wedding was the Persian wedding held at the Hilton in Flic En Flac on the picturesque west coast of the island.
The evening started at dusk with a cocktail party on the beach then moved inside for the ceremony. The wedding itself was a beautifully detailed ceremony punctuated with great passion, some incredibly moving speeches and much dancing and joy.
The ceremonial area where Nadi and Spiro sat most of the night looking like royalty was dressed with beautiful baubles and decorations bought from Iran by family members especially for the wedding. It was stunning and profound and a fitting end to a long, passionate week

As a wedding photographer I always approach the couple as the night is ending to see if they have any last requests
‘how about a photo with you?’ is one of the most frequent requests at which point one of my cameras is handed to someone of dubious sobriety
or a hand held self portrait follows.
Sometimes I can’t resist a reflection of myself……vain?….. no, curious I’d say. As a professional photographer I thinks its good for us to be on the other side occasionally too.
Much of our efforts are trying to help people feel at ease in front our cameras so its good to have empathy with the other side.

Me and bride, Joanna very late in the evening.

With ….. in front of a banner Jo and Milan they had made made for red carpet shots. I set up a studio flash system to give some real pizzaz. We photographed all the guests as they arrived,
it was a great way to start the day.

With Grieg and Kelly wrangling families for formals after the ceremony

Stalking my quarry, waiting to pounce!

couldn’t resist.

This the image I was really taking at the time

Self portrait with George and Donita very late in the evening, boy they knew how to party and beautiful people!

Hello lovelies.
I’m proud to say I’ve been shortlisted in the Yaffa Australian photographer of the year in both the wedding photographer and portrait photographer categories.
Woohoo!
I’m particularly proud about the wedding photographer nomination considering Xiss has only been going for 18 months.
With several of the other nominated photographers producing work I really admire and pushing boundaries I’m hoping its recognition that wedding photography is finally evolving in this country beyond the bland, saccharine coated, soft focus images of brides with arched backs and ‘vampire kissing’ grooms which still seems to dominate this industry to photography with greater emotional depth and integrity, but you already know that don’t you? Because that’s why your here.

Briony and Brendon tied the knot after 10 years together.
It was a beautiful garden ceremony at Werribee Mansion with 20 of their closest friends and family.
The ceremony was both moving and at times funny as they paid tribute to their love for each other and the great role models both sets of parents had been to them and their relationship. They were married by Father Aguis who had married Briony’s parents Ann and Jan 33 years earlier.
The reception was back at their house and it was easy to see where the majority of their wedding budget had been spent with plentiful top shelf food and drink being served to the 80 guests.
It was a beautiful, informal and fun wedding toally befiting the couple with a great time had by all.
Thank you guys for making me a part of it!
