Melbourne Greek Wedding Yiota & Sam
I love Greek weddings!
They’re fun, they’re passionate, they’re loud and very energetic. They have traditions and customs dating back centuries. You always seem to get the Great Uncle and Aunt who left their tiny, remote village in Greece or Cyprus, got on a plane for the first time in their lives and flew half way round the world just to be there for your wedding. Sam and Yiota’s wedding had all that and more.
People who have seen me working a wedding know I’m very energetic, I’m always moving, looking, waiting. I regularly get comments like ‘when are you going to slow down’ but this was a 14 hour extravaganza that didn’t let up for one moment and keeping up with the constant flow and energy took everything I had. When everyone starts dancing they don’t sit down, its unrelenting and it goes all night.
Sam and Yiota beamed with love of laser like intensity the whole day, it too, like the dancing, was unrelenting
Thanks so much for having as part of your special day, it was an honour and a pleasure to be there.
A BIG thanks to Meredith O’shea who shot the first 4 images of Sam getting ready.

Melbourne City wedding – Raewyn & Craig
Raewyn and Craig met at a school party in 2001 where they were introduced by mutual friends. Despite having spent much of their childhood in the same area they didn’t meet till this fateful night and it was love at first sight.
The following year Craig and Raewyn shacked up and have been living together ever since then On Christmas day 2007, under their Christmas tree, amongst the other presents, Craig asked Raewyn to marry him, Merry Xmas!
Their wedding was a perfect reflection of them. Raewyn’s stunning dress from the very talented Izaro Haute Couture, the service was held in the foyer of 333 Collins St, so classical and elegant with its ornate high domed ceiling. The reception was at Sketch in Docklands , funky, modern and walking distance home. What more can you ask for?
All the best for your continuing journey together and thanks for entrusting me with capturing your wedding, it was an honour and a pleasure.

Melbourne wedding Marnie & Nick
I had a call from Marnie early December, heres a paraphrase of that call “We’re getting married in 6 weeks, I’ve been following your blog for a year, I love your work and want you to photograph our wedding”……Now if you love a photographer, trying to book them 6 weeks out is a very risky business but as luck would have it they chose the only Saturday I had free in January but it got me thinking about a couple who operate like that. After meeting them and hearing their story I felt I kinda understood.
Marnie and Nick met through a mutual friend in the south of France in 2002 where they were both living and working at the time.
They were moving in a James Bond like world with Marnie working as personal chef for a ‘Russian Billionaire’ taking her at a moments notice anywhere on the globe catering for him and his glitteratti guests. Nick, a seaman, had a similar clientele driving luxury yachts of the mega rich around the Mediterranean but having now met these 2 Melbournite’s, so far from home, fell in love setting the foundations of this wedding in place.
In 2005 Nick returned to Melbourne to study and further his sea-mans skills. This meant 2 years living apart indispersed with globe spanning liaisons anywhere from Argentina, The Maldives, Cuba, south of France and….. even Melbourne, anywhere they could meet. In early 2008 Marnie moved back to Melbourne to be with Nick and in her words, “have a life together” it was time for a change.
With 100 of their friends and closet family they tied the knot in a beautiful, simple ceremony at the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron in St Kilda, a fitting venue given the nautical theme in their lives. With Marnie now 6 months pregnant the next chapter of their lives is well under way. All the best my friends, it was an honor to be a part of you’re wedding day.

Melbourne wedding photographer helps Haiti
Hello Lovelies,
Like all of you I was shocked and saddened by the devastation in Haiti. There was one image on the news website of a boy about 3 or 4 crying being carried away by a rescuer, I couldn’t but help think he was probably now an orphan. Could you think of anything worse to happen a child of that age? So to do my bit I’m donating 10% of the fees for the next wedding booked direct to Red Cross. The donation will be made under the name of the couple booking so get on board, get married, get great photography and help the devastation in Haiti.
NYE engagement shoot
Hello Lovelies,
Yiota, Sam and I had been trying to coordinate an eshoot for 3 months and everytime one of was free the other wasn’t and on it went but we finally managed to nail down New Years Eve in the city where we all were along a further 50% of Melbourne’s population.
It was hot and very crowded but we had fun, can’t wait for your wedding!

Fun Melbourne Wedding
Wow what an amazing day! Jill and Nick’s wedding was infused with a depth of love that was staggering, it really felt like a fairytale wedding.
Nick who had fallen madly in love with Jill the moment they met in New York 2 years ago then convinced her to marry him and move to Australia but this is no one way love story, both the bride and groom radiated the etherel spirit of two soul mates who had found each other and knew it .
The passion, love and commitment (and jokes) in Nick’s speech left not a dry eye in the house including mine.
In june there will be their 2nd ceremony in Vermont for Jill’s family and friends who couldn’t make it to Australia and I’m sure it will be just as passionate, beautiful and infused with a very special love.
Thank you so much for having me share your special day.
